Bronze

Today is Jason's and My 8th wedding anniversary. Apparently we are suppose to get eachother something Bronze. Huh?! LOL! Instead we got eachother a card; telling eachother how much we love one another. Sweet huh? Really tho, how in the heck have we been married for 8 years?! Unreal! We have been together for 11 years which is even more crazy! We met in May 1998. I had just broken up with a boyfriend not too long before that and I was living with my grandma and grandpa for the summer. (might not sound like fun to you; but my grandma rocks and I even had my own car to drive around all summer!!) Anyways, I was working but living in a REALLY small town there really wasn't much to do. I was happy they at least had internet. Dial up...but it was internet! So one night I decided to get online....20 minutes later and a load of laundry later (remember good old dial up days...??? Ahhhhhh) I started "Surfing the web". I decided to check out these new fangled "Chat rooms" to see what all the hubub was about. I went to a "20" somethings room for people from Wisconsin. (This wasn't a DATING site; it was just an Excite chat room; PRE-Match.com days!) I had been on there for an hour or so when I got a PM from this guy I believe his "Name" was irace17. We started talking and talking and talking. Before I knew it about 5 hours had gone by. I needed to go to bed! Well, the next day/night and the next and the next (you get the picture) we talked. Let me tell you; we talked about everything and anything. It is amazing how well you can get to know eachother while chatting. After a good couple of weeks of chatting we started calling eachother on the phone and talking. We'd first go into the chat room and talk and then I'd call him or he'd call me and again, we would be up all night talking on the phone.
Then one night out of the blue without ever seeing 1 single picture of one another Jason told me he thought he was falling in love with me. I felt the same way. It was weird tho; how could you feel that way about someone you had never met?! Strange; but they were true feelings. So we decided it was time to meet. We set up a weekend and decided I would drive to Madison to meet him. I got a hotel room to stay in even tho he told me I could stay at his house. I figured it would be better to have a hotel room; just in case. Here's the part I feel guilty about. I lied to my grandma. I told her some girlfriends and I were going to Madison for the weekend and I'd be back Sunday. She never even knew about Jason really. My 12 year old cousin Erin did tho! I told her where I was really going and gave her Jason's number and address and told her if I wasn't back by a certain time on Sunday she could tell Grandma and then call the police. Yeah smart huh? Thankfully everything turned out ok. Anyways, the night before we were going to meet at East Towne Mall we sat on the phone and told eachother what we were going to be wearing. LOL! Because remember we had no clue what one another looked like! I was so nervous and excited!!! I couldn't wait to meet him! The next day I packed up the car and off I went! I was never scared to meet him. I got to the mall and scoped out a spot around the area we said we would meet. I figured if I saw him and he was "Scary" looking I could sneak out without him knowing. LOL! But then there he was. And OMG I was seriously like WHAT?! THAT is the guy I have been talking to?! HE IS HOT!!! LOL!! I got up and walked over to him and we both hugged and said hi. Then we stood there for a minute; just looking at eachother. Then Jason said, "Wanna walk around?" LOL! So we did. Within 10 minutes we were holding hands...it felt so right and natural. Something we had done for years! The conversation flowed like we had been together forever. Then it happened...we walked into Boston Store and by the Scooby Doo boxers he kissed me. LOL! It was so sweet. And from that moment on we were together EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND!! The summer of 1998 was one of the best summers ever. It was such a care-free time. I look back at it with fond memories!
Whew! Anyways, I just wanted to wish my sweet hubby happy 8 years! I love you so much Jason!! And I hope we are together for 50 more!!!! Love you Baby!
