Aidan and his funny comments

Yesterday I went to drop Logan off at school in the afternoon for preschool. His favorite daycare lady Mrs. Laurie came out just a laughing saying, "Boy do I have a funny story to tell you about Aidan!" All I could think was, oh gosh now what did he say?! LOL!! He is always coming up with these funny comments...so I as a little scared to say the least.
Now, keep in mind this is a Lutheran school...Logan does preschool there and Aidan is in kindergarten there.
Ok on with the story:

So Laurie was saying that Emily who is a wonderful young lady going to school for early childhood and also helps run the daycare and helps out in kindergarten each day had gone to an early childhood class and each student was given a different shaped gourd and told to take them back to the classrooms they work in a discuss with the students what they were, what they looked like to the etc. Emily's Gourd looked like this one...kind of like a pac man ghost:

So Emily was standing at the front of the kindergarten class asking the kids what they thought it was and what they thought it looked like! One boy raised his hand and said he thought it looked like a jelly fish, another one said a pac man ghost. Other kids said different things. Then Aidan raised his hand and Emily called on him and he said, "I think it looks like a cow Penis!" LMAO!! Oh my I can only imagine how hard it was for Emily, Mrs Monroe and the other adults in the room not to laugh. Emily said she didn't know how to react so she just moved on without responding. Good idea Emily! LOL!! So as Laurie is telling me this we are both laughing so hard we have tears coming out of our eyes! Ugh!! So then apparently later the kids were all sitting around talking about this gourd and Aidan says, "Yeah well I still think it looks like a cow penis!" None of the kids even responded to that. I dont know if they even realized what he was saying! Next thing you know, Mrs Monroe; Aidan's teacher says, "Aidan, are you thinking of Udders?" And Aidan responds with, "No, I am thinking cow penis!" UGH!!! LOL!! Leave it to my child! All I can figure is this summer he went to my aunt and uncle's farm and spent a day there. I am sure seeing a cow penis was pretty interesting to him! LOL!! Too funny tho!!

Here is a picture of Aidan and Emily from last year:

This on top of calling Pastor Mike "The King" a few Sundays ago!

We were at Church and the kids were all singing in the kindergarten and preschool classes. After they sang Pastor Mike who is awesome called all the children in church up to the front for a children's service. They were talking about God and how when he lived and would go to cities people would be very excited for "The King" to come to their town and they would all stand as he came into their town saying, "Long Live the King!" Kind of like when there were kings and queens in the old days. Then he went on to say, it's kind of like us here and now. When we come to Church it is our way of saying, "Long live the King" when we worship. Then he asked the children, "Who are we usually saying that to when we are here? And of course Aidan raises his hand and Pastor Mike calls on him, and Aidan says, "The Pastor!?" LMAO! The entire Church started laughing and Pastor Mike laughed..oh it was funny!! Leave it to Aidan! I swear you never know what he is going to say next sometimes!

In other Aidan news, he now has 2 loose teeth!! Both on the bottom. I suspect he will lose at least one of them this week or next. The one that has been loose for a few weeks now is really loose. He is so excited to lose a tooth! LOL! It is weird because I can remember being excited to lose my teeth too. Doesn't seem like it was that long ago!! I will let you all know when he finally loses one!

Moving and loose teeth!

We are all moved!! We moved into our new place last weekend and it is great! I love it! I honestly for the first time ever feel like this is Home. It's weird...it's like forever we have been living somewhere that's not ours. But this new place feels like ours. The boys love it, I love it and I think even the cats love it! LOL!! Anyways, I am alive; but busy unpacking and doing all that stuff. Once things settle down more I will make another post with pictures!!!!

Oh and on an exciting side note:

AIDAN HAS HIS FIRST LOOSE TOOTH!!!! He actually found it last week Friday! It was so cute and funny because we were in the car going somewhere and he said, "Mom my tooth hurts." Of course I immediately thought oh great a cavity! So I asked him which tooth hurt and he said the front one. I kinda smiled and said, "Does it move when you touch it?" So he touched it and sure enough it was loose!! He is very excited about this! I am kind of sad...it's like this is the end. I mean once he starts losing his teeth and getting his "ADULT" teeth it's like he really isn't a little boy anymore! Gosh...it's hard to believe that in 7 years he is going to be a teenager! In 4 years he is going to be in the double digits for age! I can remember being SO EXCITED to be turning 10! It meant I wasn't in the single digits anymore! LOL!! So funny...but it makes me sad that he is growing up so fast! Anyways, once he loses it I will make sure to post about it and take a picture of his "NEW" smile!!

Update on Us!

It's been awhile since I've updated here so I thought I'd take a few minutes and write one!
We are not about a month into school and the boys are doing great! Logan had a bit of a tough go at the beginning always crying at pick up and generally just missing Aidan and mom and dad. But he is getting it now. He understands that mom or dad will always be there after school to get him and that he gets to see Aidan at lunch and recess so with those things he is doing better. He has also made a few new friends which helps a lot too. Today I actually took our cat Charlie to Logan's class for Pet Week. They have been learning about pets and how pets are taken care of and the different kinds there are. They got to see a pony this week, a chihuahua, a guinea pig and now Charlie. All the kids were excited to have Charlie there. Too bad the same couldn't be said for Charlie. He was great with the kids, let them all pet him but he was very nervous. And when I went to put him back in his carrier he scratched my arm pretty bad and put a ton of holes in my shirt...ugh! But we made it home and now he is relaxing. LOL!
Aidan LOVES kindergarten. He has so much fun each day and always comes home with fun stories to tell. He is starting to be able to read which is amazing! He is figuring out that each letter has a sound and how to sound out words. When we read in his "God's Word" book during the week he is usually able to read the first few sentences by sounding the words out. It is amazing! I can't wait for him to be able to read, he will be a book worm I think. I love his teacher Mrs. Monroe. She is so gentle yet has firm boundaries which is exactly what Aidan needs. She has a Green, Yellow, Red, Blue Light system in the classroom. So when you are good and following the rules you are on green. If you aren't listening you move yourself down to yellow with a warning and you lose 5 minutes of Choice Time. If you do something else to get in trouble you move down to Red and lose 10 minutes of Choice time and if you are REALLY not listening you get moved to Blue. Thankfully we've never had a Blue come home but we have had 2 reds so far this year. Ugh!! Aidan's a good kid, he just is a social butterfly (likes to talk) and gets very excited to be in school and sometimes forgets to stop and think and listen. The first time he got on Red was because he was talking during rest time. That got him on yellow with a warning. Then he said he was talking to himself (he does this a lot, he is always singing or "acting" outloud) and said, "Mom I wasn't talking to anyone just to myself." He didn't understand that was also a no no when told not to be talking to others that meant no talking at all. Then the last red he got was on Wednesday. He was apparently suppose to be getting into line to go back to the classroom and was pushing others to get in front of them. Then at lunch he was banging his lunchbox on the wall and his yogurt broke all over. Poor guy. Like his teacher said, he has a general excitement for school and a lot of time gives into peer pressure (oh great we have to worry about that already?! UGH!!) and so we had a long talk with Aidan explaining things to him. He also got TV time taken away and had to go to bed a lot earlier than his little brother. He wasn't happy. But I need to drive home the point that we do not do those things in school or anywhere for that matter. So we shall see. He tries so hard and loves school so much so that is good. I am sure there will be more red days to come (it is early in the year! UGH!) but we will take each one and deal with it individually. Overall tho, school is going great!

We are also moving at the end of the month! Crazy!! We found a great 3 bedroom 4plex in Oregon that I am super excited about! First of all, it is bedroom! Plus it has a full basement, a garage and a DISHWASHER!! Eeeeee!! I have been doing dishes by hand for the last 3 years! It has sucked to say the least! LOL! So I am really excited to get the show on the road. I will post pictures once we move and get settled. It is also closer to my work, but much more driving for Jason which sucks, but it is what it is.

That's about it for us! Same old stuff really!! Everyone is healthy and doing well so that's all that matters!! If anyone wants our new address please just email me and I can send it to you!!!

First Day of Kindergarten and Preschool

Yesterday marked a VERY special, bittersweet, monumental moment in my boys lives. Yesterday Aidan started Kindergarten and Logan started Preschool. We started the morning off relaxed. Jason made the boys breakfast (Pancakes, sausage, String Cheese, grapes and milk) and while the boys ate I made sure their bags were packed and ready to go! At 7:30 we left to go to school. Aidan of course was not nervous at all. He was really excited to see all his old friends from Preschool again. Everyone returned for Kindergarten this year except for 2 kids. There is a total of 17 kids in his class! 6 boys and 11 girls and of course the best girl is there too; Carly! :-)
When we arrived at school I had Aidan grab his bag and that was when I realized I left his lunch at home. WTG mom! LOL! Talk about an amateur! I told Aidan I would take him into class and hang out for a bit and then go home and get his lunch. He of course was fine with that. I dropped Logan off at the school daycare so that I could have a last moment with Aidan. When we got into the classroom all the kids were so excited to see each other again. Mrs. Monroe is a wonderful teacher and we feel very blessed to have her be Aidan's kinder teacher. He loves her so much. She seems very gentle and kind. She had all these little notes set up through out the classroom to make a treasure hunt sort of. Each note told you what school supply went there so it made it easy to get everything where it needed to go. Once we got everything put in it's place Aidan found his seat and immediately started coloring the sheet of paper that was there. Mrs. Monroe came over and commented about how wonderful it was that he was ready to get down to work already! That's my boy! :-) Then it was time for me to leave. Aidan gave me a big hug and kiss and told me he would be fine. LMAO! I told him to have a wonderful day at school and to learn a lot and be a great listener! Then it was off to get Logan and then Aidan's lunch! After I got out to the car I sat there and cried a little. Not too much tho. Enough however that Logan noticed and Asked me why I was crying. I told him they were happy tears. And they were. It really was a nice morning. Then Logan and I got home from going back to school and we relaxed and had a nice time together. Logan was so excited to go to Preschool he could hardly stand it! It was so cute! So at 11:30 we left to go back to school for Logan! When we walked in he was so cute. He wanted to bring George too, so George went to school as well. Miss. Howell who was Aidan's teacher last year was excited to see Logan. She was happy to have him in her class this year. Immediately Logan ran into the classroom and found where his backpack went and wrote his name on his name tag. The it was time for me to leave. He gave me a big hug and told me that he would "Missed Me". LOL! I told him to have a lot of fun and I would see him after school.
Jason picked the boys up after school and they were so happy to see him! He said Aidan was mad because he didn't get homework and he wanted homework! LOL!! Do you think that will continue?? Somehow I doubt it. LOL!
So it was a great first day!!
Today Aidan had another wonderful day, however Logan had a little tougher time. He was a little sad today Miss Howell said. But he will get better...I hope! LOL! So that was their first day of school! Now here are the pictures!

Happy 6th Birthday Aidan!

Myspace Graphics
Myspace Graphics, Happy Birthday Graphics at WishAFriend.com

Dear Aidan~

Today you turn 6. How did that happen? Where did that little baby who I brought home from the hospital go? Where did that little baby who wore preemie diapers and clothes for the first 2 weeks of life go?! August 19, 2003 was one of the very best days of my life! I remember waking up the morning of August 18 to my water breaking!! That was interesting! Your daddy and I rushed off to the hospital where the long process of getting labor going started. Once labor started tho, things moved fairly quickly! You came out crying and haven't stopping talking since! You were such an easy baby and so much fun. Truly Aidan, you are a blessing. Your daddy and I tried to have you for so long. 11 months to be exact. The day I found out I was pregnant with you was a day I will never forget. I was so excited, scared and a little worried. But deep down I knew you were meant to be and you would be with us forever!
Now, here we are, 6 years later and you will be starting Kindergarten in a week!! I can't believe how fast these 6 years have gone! And I am scared that the next 6 will go just as fast! I can't imagine how you will be at the age of 12!? Amazing I am sure.

What are you doing now?

~You are learning to read and are pretty good at it. You can sound things out and sometime you just look at words and know what they say. It amazes your dad and I each and every time.
~You weigh 70 pounds and are 4 foot 2 inches tall!! You are going to be taller than I am soon!!
~ You're a great big brother who loves to play with Logan, even tho he does sometimes "Annoy" you. You always are there to help him and comfort him when he needs it.
~Your favorite Tv Shows right now are Hannah Montana, Sponge Bob, Ben 10, & Transformers.
~Your favorite foods right now are pizza, Peanut Butter and Honey, Fruit, Chicken Bruschetta, & Chimichangas.
~Your favorite color right now is: Blue
~ You love playing hockey and swimming.

I love you so much Aidan and am so proud of you and the person you are becoming. You are a sweet boy who worries about everyone. You are a great friend and an even better son. Thank you for choosing dad and I to be your parents. I can't imagine my life without you!!!!

Playdates...and kisses?!

Aidan and Carly on the last day of preschool

So yesterday Aidan had his very first playdate with a friend! It was a big day for mommy because sure, he has been gone before by himself but it was always with family! He has never gone over to a friends house to play without me! He was so excited because this friend just happened to also be Carly, a little girl from his preschool class who was his best friend last year! Him and Carly were basically joined at the hip. They are so much a like and were kind of like kindred spirits really. Anyways, Carly lives about 25 minutes from us so I took Aidan out to her house for the afternoon. I love Carly's mom Trina she is such a neat person! I dropped Aidan off at Carly's house and then Logan and I went to McDonalds and had a parfait. Logan was a little sad he couldn't stay and play too!
Trina brought Aidan home around 5:30 and Aidan was bouncing off the walls. He had a wonderful time at Carly's. She lives on a farm so they jumped on the trampoline, rode bikes, Trina drove them around in the Gator and they just played all afternoon. Aidan got out of the car and started this conversation with me:

A: "Mom, I need to tell you something but without Carly's mom hearing it."

Me: Ok wisper it into my ear

A: Ok! *Wispers* Carly and I kissed! *Jumping up and down*

Me: *Trying not to act like it's a big deal* You what? You kissed?! When did you do that?

A: On the trampoline.

Me: Oh really?

So then I walk over to Tina and wisper "Aidan says he and Carly kissed!"

The look on her face was priceless. You could tell she was a tad mortified but honestly I thought it was kind of cute/funny. Now if they had both been 12 I wouldn't have been laughing. But they are 6 so I knew at this point it was all innocent. Trina looked at Carly and asked, "Did you really?" And Carly just sorta got a big huge grin on her face and didn't say anything. Trina apologized to me saying, "I am so sorry! I was with them the whole time except when they were playing on the trampoline and upstairs! Otherwise Carly's brothers were with them!" I told her it was ok, I wasn't mad or upset. LOL! I mean what do you say?! Hahahaha!! So then Carly says, "Mom can Aidan sleep over sometime?! I want Aidan to sleep over!!" LMAO!! We both looked at eachother and at the same time said, "We'll see about that!" HAhahahahahahaa!!! So funny!! So at the age of 5 1/2 years old Aidan has gotten his first kiss from a girl. I am so not ready for this!!

Please say a prayer for Stellan

You may remember me mentioning a little boy whom I don't personally know but have followed since before he was even born named Stellan. He is the little boy who's heart goes in and out of SVT and his Mama was basically told while pregnant with him that he would no survive the birth. Well he did, but since being born he has spent more than half of his sweet life in the hospital and had 1 heart surgery and will be having another one when he is older. WHy do I mention him? Because he is back in the hospital and not doing well at all. His heart is racing at an alarmning 224 BPM, that is insane! Poor little guy and his poor family. So if you can please say a prayer for him and his family. They really need it right now.

Fishing and July 3rd Fireworks

Well we finally went and got our fishing licenses. After having the boys beg us for half the summer to go fishing (we live within 10 minutes of a great fishing spot) Jason and I decided that we would do it on July 3rd. So we got our fishing licenses and took the boys. They had a great time; although I was the only one to actually catch a fish! LOL! Go figure!! But the boys loved looking at it and seeing it go back into the water and swim away. Then later that day we went to the Elver Park fireworks in Madison. We had never been to them before and let me tell you they were really good! The boys really enjoyed them and were sad when they were over!! Here are some pictures (ok who am I kidding?? Lots of pictures) from that day! Enjoy!

Rhythm and Booms

I finally have a free moment to spare so I thought I would write about our last few weeks!! The last weekend in June is ALWAYS reserved for Rhythm and Booms. It is seriously THE BEST fireworks display I have EVER EVER seen!! Usually there are over 300,000 people that attend the event! It is absolutely crazy but so much fun! Every year Jason's aunt has a party at her house which is only a 10 minute walk from the park where R&B takes place. It is always a lot of fun with lots of great company, food and fun for the kids. Of course tho, we enjoyed the day but not the fireworks because they got postponed due to the weather! So back we went on Sunday to Jeannie's house and cooked out and then went down to the park and watched the fireworks! The boys LOOOVED them! Logan kept saying, "AWESOME!!" "COOL!!" And was just in awe! Aidan loved them too and thought they were "the best things EVER MOM!!" LOL! They are so cute. And it is so much fun watching my boys ENJOY the fireworks. I think I had more fun watching my boys watch the fireworks than I did watching the fireworks themselves!!

Enjoy the pics!!

They had a dunk tank there at the party and a slip n slide. The boys loved the slip n slide and Aidan even went into the dunk tank with Uncle Zak! He thought that was pretty darn cool!

Bowling with Buddies

A few weeks ago we got together for a fun filled day with our friends Tom and Becky and their little boy Ben. Ben is the same age as Logan and so the 3 boys always have a great time together no matter what we do! But on this day after eating lunch and playing at the park we decided to take the boys Bowling!! It was not their first time but it was so much fun none the less. Logan actually did really well and ended with a score of 70!! Amazing!! Here are some pictures from the day! Enjoy!
